HIPNet Library Mailings 2006
Due to the success of previous mailings, and the continued demand for them, HIPNet organized a third mailing of materials to libraries in September 2006. This time, mailings were done for all three languages (English, Spanish and French) at one time. All the materials were collected, sorted and shipped by the Center for Communication Programs. Due to the number of libraries (196 English, 61 French, and 176 Spanish), the volume of documents, and the number of countries to which all the materials were being shipped (60), this mailing absorbed 60 staff hours. 10 organizations participated in the English mailing, 5 in the Spanish, and 3 in the French mailing.
The materials pictured on the left were part of the three joint mailings in September 2006.
By sending materials together to a targeted group of libraries that had already indicated that they wanted the materials, HIPNet was able to help its members save money on postage and reach an audience that has an expressed need for their materials.
