Dr. Jim Shelton's Pearls "Pearl" for the week of March 21, 2005

E-Learning Course on IUDs

Q:I understand a prototype E-Learning course on IUDs may be available to take on the internet. Is that true?

A:Yes. We are developing a USAID Global Health E-Learning Center envisioned to include dozens of 1 to 1.5 hour courses on fundamentals of global health. The courses are still under development. But one on IUDs and one on TB can be viewed and actually taken.

Major collaborators on the Learning Center thus far are Management Sciences for Health and the INFO project of the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. We appreciate any feedback.

The "Pearls" offer answers to commonly asked questions about family planning. These "Pearls" are prepared by Dr. James D. Shelton, Senior Medical Scientist, Office of Population, United States Agency for International Development (USAID)
