Interviews with IBP members about their organizations' best practices

What Is IBP?
The Implementing Best Practices Initiative (IBP) is a consortium of twenty-five organizations including the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health/Center for Communication Programs, The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), The World Health Organization (WHO), The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and others. The mission of the IBP Initiative is to improve access to and quality of reproductive health care by helping local and national programs introduce, adapt, and apply evidence-based concepts and best practices. The process used by the IBP Initiative encourages change from within a system by fostering leadership and creative thinking through networking among individuals and organizations. Since 1999, the IBP Initiative has organized regional meetings in Nepal, Uganda and Egypt and country meetings in China and India. To support its members, the IBP Initiative has also developed an online collaboration tool for building virtual communities of practice called the IBP Knowledge Gateway. Membership in the Knowledge Gateway is free and open to anyone working in reproductive health. For more information, visit www.ibpinitiative.org or email info@ibpinitiative.org

Interviews
The INFO Project has conducted interviews with six IBP members to find out more about their own best practices, success stories, and lessons learned. The interviews provided an excellent opportunity for them to share their experiences, insights, and know-how.
With these interviews, we have begun to build an archive of stories and experiences grounded in practice that will provide ideas, lessons learned, and examples that we can draw from to improve and strengthen our own programs in the future.
