Global Information Sharing of 
"Youth Deliver the Future" Conference 
June 23, 2008

The Interagency Youth Working Group (IYWG) organized this half-day meeting to discuss key messages and technical topics covered at the international youth conference, “Youth Deliver the Future: Investing in Young People’s Health and Development: Research that Improves Policies and Programs,” held in Abuja, Nigeria, on June 27-29, 2008. This meeting was co-sponsored with The Bill and Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The objectives of the meeting were:  

  1. To summarize the purpose and key messages of the “Youth Deliver the Future” conference in terms of global youth research results and program experiences.
  2. To discuss the main points of key topic areas as presented at the conference and implications for research, programs, and policies.

The agenda (see below) included introductory presentations and roundtable sessions on many of the conference’s key technical areas. Handouts were provided at each roundtable that listed presentations from the “Youth Deliver the Future” conference relevant to the roundtable topic.
