Family Health International (FHI)/YouthNet Program

The program developed five publication series, training tools, and other publications.
The Christian and Muslim manuals contain six workshops and a participant handbook designed for adults, including parents. Participants practice communication skills and learn factual information as linked to religious teachings and appropriate Bible and Quran verses, respectively. A third manual is available for working with youth from a Christian perspective. The manuals encourage open discussion about sexuality, reproductive health, and HIV in the context of faith communities. They are not designed to promote religion. (2006-2007)
Produced with CARE USA, these resources are designed to support those seeking to learn from and with youth and adults within their communities. They include a participatory assessment tool, a literature review, and a collection of annotated resources. (2006)
This online forum (March 15-April 15, 2005), with more than 600 participating from 84 countries, is archived, with comments from guest panelists and the moderator, evaluation results, a guide to conducting such a forum, and links to resources. This easy-to-use, spiral-bound booklet helps service providers and counselors improve their counseling skills. It provides resources on contraceptives and STIs, as well as HIV counseling and testing. (2005)
