Resources
Attention to youth reproductive health and HIV prevention activities has grown enormously since the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development. A vast increase in reports, interventions, research studies, electronic resources, and Web listings has resulted. Key resources, focusing on those published since 1997, are organized below for easy reference.
A growing number of organizations have developed dedicated youth projects, resulting in briefs, newsletters, fact sheets, project and issue reports, specialized tools, and other publications. This page summarizes key youth publications, divided by organization. The database contains more publications from the organizations; access the database from the homepage. For more information on the youth projects themselves, go to the Web sites page.
Organizations are becoming more willing to share survey and other research instruments, methodology approaches, and even data sets for secondary analysis.
Many valuable training materials exist that can be used as published or possibly modified for program needs globally. These documents provide guidance to program managers who might consider the existing materials before developing new ones.
These are links to organizations that have specific youth projects or areas of concentration. The links go to project area pages where possible. Key publications from the organizations are grouped in the “Publications” section of the “Resources” page.
In recent years, a number of major studies and reviews of youth reproductive health and HIV prevention programs have appeared. These studies provide useful overviews of program experiences, lessons learned, research reviews, and synthesis of ideas.
